ISOCELL 3TPW TIMBER Protect

ISOCELL TIMBER Protect is a fully self-adhesive membrane with variable vapour diffusion resistance, developed to protect timber structures and prefabricated elements during transportation, storage and the construction phase.

The membrane is suitable for timber frame and prefabricated buildings, CLT structures and other wood-based construction elements. Thanks to its full-surface adhesive layer, it can be installed quickly and securely onto the substrate.

ISOCELL 3TPW TIMBER Protect helps protect the structure against rain, wind and weather exposure during construction while allowing residual moisture within the structure to dry out in a controlled manner. Its variable diffusion resistance makes it particularly suitable for timber structures where moisture management is important.

The membrane is transparent and features an anti-slip surface for easier and safer handling. A practical printed grid helps determine overlap widths and simplifies installation.

Installation

TIMBER Protect must be installed with full-surface contact against the substrate. Cut the membrane to the required size and gradually remove the release liner while pressing the membrane firmly onto the surface.

Install the membrane without air bubbles or wrinkles. A wide installation squeegee or straight, wide brush can be used to smooth the material. The recommended minimum overlap width is 10 cm. Edges should be pressed firmly, for example using a pressure roller.

Suitable substrates include:

• timber;
• OSB;
• MDF;
• 3S panels;
• particleboard;
• plywood;
• synthetic materials;
• stainless and non-oxidising metals;
• masonry;
• unpolished concrete.

The substrate must be dry and free of dust, grease and silicone. For rough timber, uneven substrates or installation at low temperatures, the manufacturer recommends using an ISOCELL primer.

Important Information

ISOCELL 3TPW provides wind protection, airtightness and temporary weather protection, but it must not be regarded as a load-bearing structural connection. The membrane is not intended to be plastered over or painted.
