The creator of Gjerdesagen was Norwegian carpenter Arne Gjerde, who developed the world's first construction saw with a rotating plate.
Based on his work experience, Arne Gjerde noticed a clear need for better and more efficient tools. He combined the principles of known construction saws with the revolutionary use of a rotating plate and a ball-joint arm. Over time, the product became so widely used that today, construction saw is often synonymous with “Gjerdesagen®”. Since its modest beginnings in 1950, more than 350,000 saws have been sold.

The secret to Gjerdesagen's great success lies in its unique concept. The saws have customization options for all types of work. No matter how the saw blade is operated, the lifting arm is always on the same side as the table. The rotating plate can move in the range of 0-135° and the saw blade can tilt up to 45° – at the same time! Reconfiguration is easy and restoring work capability is quick. This means it is a universal machine that can easily perform complex cutting, splitting, and angled tasks.
