MAFELL KSS 40 18M bl Cordless Cross-Cutting System - body

The MAFELL KSS 40 18M bl is a professional cordless cross-cutting system designed for demanding installation, interior finishing and woodworking applications. Combining modern 18 V battery technology with MAFELL's proven KSS cross-cutting system, it provides the freedom of cordless operation without compromising precision or cutting performance.

The compact brushless motor is highly efficient, durable and maintenance-free. With a no-load speed of 6,700 rpm, the KSS 40 18M bl delivers controlled and powerful cutting performance for a wide range of materials and applications.

With the guide track fitted, the system provides a maximum cutting depth of 40 mm at 0° and 27 mm at 45°. Without the guide track, the saw can cut up to 42 mm deep at 0°. The maximum cutting length is 300 mm.

Versatile professional cutting system

The KSS 40 18M bl is designed as a highly versatile 5-in-1 cutting system. It can be used for:

• guided cross-cuts;
• rip cuts;
• mitre and bevel cuts;
• plunge cuts and recesses;
• shadow-gap and expansion-joint cuts.

Shadow gaps and expansion joints can be cut from 13 mm. The system is suitable for board materials, doors, worktops, parquet, laminate flooring and solid wood.

Quick-release KSS system

The saw can be detached from the guide rail quickly using the integrated quick-release mechanism. Once removed, it can be used as a separate portable circular saw with the functionality of the MAFELL K series.

This makes the KSS 40 18M bl particularly practical for professional installation work where flexibility and fast changes between applications are essential.

Precise angle and bevel cuts

The KSS 40 18M bl is equipped with an adjustable guide system for accurate angle cuts. One stop is fixed while the other can be precisely adjusted using the large scale markings.

The saw provides a 0–45° tilt range, while angle cuts can be adjusted from -60° to +45°.

Flexi-Guide compatibility

For longer guided cuts, the KSS 40 18M bl can be combined with the Flexi-Guide FX 140. This roll-up guide allows precise guided cuts of up to 1.4 m and provides additional flexibility when working with larger workpieces.

Cordless Alliance System

The KSS 40 18M bl is part of the Cordless Alliance System (CAS). CAS allows compatible batteries and chargers to be shared across a wide range of professional cordless tools from participating manufacturers.

The official specification lists an 18 V, 99 Wh LiHD battery for this version.
