FLEX Power Tools GmbH is a German manufacturer of electric tools, headquartered in Steinheim. FLEX was founded in 1922 after the production of the first angle grinder MS6, and in 1935 it became the first supplier of tools. In 1954, FLEX invented the first angle grinder with a flexible shaft and began its supply.
The brand “Flex” has become independent over time and is occasionally used colloquially to refer to angle grinders, while the derived verb flexen is used for grinding cutting blades.
