Professional-level performance without the professional price tag.
Deerfos BORA 9 (VS990) fiber discs offer one of the best price-to-performance ratios on the market for heavy industry and metalworking. These purple ceramic discs are designed specifically for fast and intensive material removal.
Available grits: K36, K40, K60, K80, K120
The discs use 100% ceramic grain, whose crystalline structure is engineered to micro-fracture during use. This means the grain doesn't dull as it wears — it continuously exposes new sharp cutting edges. The result: the disc maintains its aggressiveness and cutting speed until fully worn down, especially in coarser grits like K36 and K60.
When sanding stainless steel and alloys, the biggest risk is metal overheating and blue discoloration. BORA 9's purple additional layer reduces friction and dissipates heat, keeping the sanding process cool. This prevents thermal damage to the metal and stops the disc from clogging and "glazing over."
Heavier grits (K36–K60) use a thicker-than-usual vulcanized fiber backing, to which the grain is bonded using strong resin-over-resin technology. The disc withstands high pressure, vibration stays minimal, and the grain doesn't detach from the backing even during intense work on sharp edges or weld seams.
BORA 9 falls only slightly short of market leader 3M Cubitron in absolute top speed — but at half the price, its usage efficiency per part is often even higher.
Choose Deerfos BORA 9 if you're looking for a cost-effective and consistent solution for everyday sanding — of carbon metal, structural steel, and general welding work — and want performance close to Cubitron at a more wallet-friendly price.
